Receiving Visitors

JM: How often could you receive visitors?
Karen: Once a week.

JM: Was the check-in process lengthy for those who came to see you?
Karen: Yes they would have to be signed up an hour prior to the visit, and sometimes the line was really long and the deputy would just cut the line off at that time as she signed people up for visitation so there could have been someone in line waiting for the full hour but didn’t get to visit if not in front of the deputy an hour prior to visitation.

JM: What was the visiting environment like?
Karen: The visiting environment was noisy through a glass window with phones to speak to the visiting party. Other inmates and visitors were very loud and very close.
